The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences launched the "Smart Robot Science and Technology Action" in Beijing. The action will focus on the core problems such as hilly farmland machinery, facility agricultural machinery, agricultural product processing equipment, and the lack of intelligent machinery for animal husbandry in China's agricultural mechanization, and focus on tackling key problems.

The level of mechanization has increased, but there are "three more and three less"

Agricultural mechanization is one of the most important foundations of agricultural modernization. In the past few decades, the level of agricultural mechanization in China has improved rapidly, and data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs show that the comprehensive mechanization rate of wheat, corn and rice in China has exceeded 97%, 90% and 85% respectively, and the comprehensive mechanization rate of crops has exceeded 71%.

At the same time, there is also an imbalance in the level of agricultural mechanization in China, the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvest in the hilly and mountainous areas of the south is only 51%, and the mechanization level of key links in the production of cash crops such as cotton, oil, candy and vegetable tea, as well as animal husbandry, fishery, primary processing of agricultural products, facility agriculture and other fields are low.

Wu Kongming, president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that the development of agricultural mechanization in China has the characteristics of "three more and three less", with more small horsepower, medium and low-end machinery, and few high-horsepower and high-quality tools; There are many extensive single agricultural machinery operations, and less high-efficiency compound agricultural machinery operations; There are more small-scale self-used agricultural machinery households, and there are fewer large-scale specialized agricultural machinery service organizations.

At the same time, Wu Kongming also said that agricultural machinery equipment still has problems such as "inorganic usability", "no good machine use" and "organic difficult to use" to varying degrees. In terms of "whether there is any", hilly and mountainous areas, facility agricultural production, agricultural product processing equipment, livestock and poultry aquaculture intelligent equipment are lacking; In terms of "good or not", the demand for R&D and application of technical equipment in key links such as rice planting, peanut harvesting, rapeseed and potato sowing is still urgent. In terms of "excellent or not excellent", it is highlighted in the intelligent equipment and the low level of intelligent production.

Overcome technical difficulties and strengthen grain storage in technology

Science and technology is the primary productive force and an important part of the modernization of agricultural production. It is understood that in recent years, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has successively launched scientific and technological research actions such as "Mission List System", "Strong Seed Science and Technology Action", "Fertile Field Science and Technology Action" and "Grain Increase Science and Technology Action", once again focusing on the weak links in agricultural modernization, promoting agricultural scientific and technological progress, and strengthening the measures of storing grain in technology.

Wu Kongming said that as a national strategic scientific and technological force, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences is committed to solving major scientific and technological problems of public welfare, basic, overall, strategic and forward-looking development of "three rural areas". Especially since 2017, the hospital has accelerated the pace of scientific and technological innovation in agriculture and rural areas, making positive contributions to ensuring national food security, biosecurity and ecological security.

The "Smart Machine Science and Technology Action" is an important measure taken by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences to accelerate the scientific and technological innovation of China's agricultural machinery equipment, promote the effective supply of key core components, and solve the "stuck neck" problem. Wu Kongming introduced that in the future, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences will gather more than 20 scientific research teams from 10 research institutes in the field of agricultural machinery and equipment in the whole academy, with the goal of making up for shortcomings in agricultural machinery equipment, attacking the core, and strengthening intelligence, focusing on key research tasks such as efficient and intelligent green agricultural machinery science and technology research, collaborative innovation of agricultural machinery science and technology enterprises, and agricultural machinery innovation platform improvement, and strive to achieve leapfrog development of China's agricultural machinery equipment and agricultural mechanization technology by 2030, and provide strong support for ensuring national food security.

Focus on the neck problem and overcome the bottleneck of science and technology

"The development of agricultural mechanization in China has gone through four stages." Chen Qiaomin, director of the Nanjing Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, introduced, "The era of agricultural machinery 1.0 mainly solves the problem of replacing human and animal power with mechanical machines, the 2.0 era mainly solves the problem of comprehensive mechanization, the 3.0 era mainly solves the problem of informatization, and the 4.0 era is the era of automation and intelligence." At present, the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting in the country has exceeded 71%, and the overall trend of parallel development of agricultural machinery 1.0 to 4.0 has been shown."

The "Smart Robot Technology Action" launched this time has six strategic tasks. Chen Qiaomin introduced that the six major tasks include "the implementation of agricultural machinery whole process mechanization equipment, hilly and mountainous applicable equipment, modern facilities agricultural equipment, agricultural equipment intelligence, agricultural big data and artificial intelligence, suitable for mechanization agronomic technology integration" and other aspects. To this end, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences will take specific actions such as "attacking the core", "making up for shortcomings" and "strong intelligence" to tackle key problems in efficient and intelligent green agricultural machinery science and technology, collaborative innovation actions of agricultural machinery science and technology enterprises, and improvement actions of agricultural machinery innovation platforms.

The "Smart Robot Technology Initiative" also sets goals at different points in time. Chen Qiaomin introduced that by 2023, the scientific and technological innovation ability of agricultural machinery and equipment will continue to improve, the application of intelligent technology of food equipment will be accelerated, and the problem of "inorganic use" of the weak links of major cash crops will be basically solved. By 2025, agricultural machinery equipment and agricultural mechanization technology will be realized "from existing to complete", weak areas and links mechanization technology will be basically solved, mechanization and information intelligence will be further integrated, and product quality reliability and adaptability will be significantly improved. By 2030, agricultural machinery equipment and agricultural mechanization technology will be "from full to excellent", equipment reliability and operation quality will be greatly improved, and the level of intelligence will reach the international leading level.
